There is incontrovertible evidence that the EMF (acronym for Electromagnetic Field) emitted by cell phone towers is harmful to the human body and living systems in general. An extensive literature of research findings has accumulated in recent years to show a high correlation between EMF exposure and various types of cancer and leukemias, particularly in children, heart disease, central nervous system malfunction, genetic defects, miscarriage, Alzheimer’s disease and many other systemic imbalances. Safety Concerns

Cell towers are constructed of many components, any number of which can fail and lead to disastrous consequences. Cell towers burn, they fall, and some burn and fall to the ground in a fiery catastrophe often documented by bystanders. Those without lateral support are more likely to topple over completely, causing injury and damage to vehicles and nearby structures within a radius equal to the height of the pole above ground. They accumulate ice that falls, sustain wind and storm damage to components that catapult to the ground, and attract lightning to the surrounding area, to name only a few of the many negative effects neighbors and passersby can anticipate when in the vicinity of a tower. Property Values

When cell towers move in, residents move out. When cell towers appear, prospective buyers disappear. These are facts abundantly documented in studies like the Bond and Hue Proximate Impact Study, the Bond and Wang Transaction Based Market Study, and the Bond and Beamish Opinion Survey Study, all referenced below, with additional sources to further illustrate from real-life situations that property values fall when cell towers rise over residential neighborhoods. Aesthetic Impact

The proliferation of cell towers virtually defines the term “visual pollution” and is never more apt than describing cell towers blighting the landscape of residential neighborhoods. It is a well-known fact that pleasing aesthetics in an urban environment contribute to the emotional and psychological sense of well-being of community members and promote a positive sense of community identity and pride. The Pollution Prevention Act states as national policy that pollution should be prevented or reduced at the source wherever feasible. Neighborhoods blighted by cell towers often become blighted neighborhoods as families vacate and property is sold at progressively lower rates. It is clear that in the situation of visual pollution in residential areas, the best solution is prevention  - don't erect a tower in a residential neighborhood!
